We are thrilled to announce that much-loved author Barbara Trapido will be an honoured guest at the Abingdon Arts Festival. Barbara is a bestselling author who receives not only critical acclaim, but whose novels are great word-of-mouth recommendations.

She has hardly put pen to paper without being nominated for an award, from her first novel, Brother of the More Famous Jack to Frankie and Stankie, nominated for the Booker Prize. Barbara Trapido has not published a new book for three years, so any new book from her is a major literary event, and she has promised to read from her current work in progress.

Eliza Graham and Angela Young
The Book To Talk About 2008
Mon Mar 3, 7.30pm, Mostly Books

Over the last few weeks, thousands of people have been voting from a longlist of 100 books as part of the World Book Day "Spread The Word" initiative - and the UK's newest literary prize The Book To Talk About 2008.

The shortlist has been announced, and we are delighted to welcome not one, but two of the shortlisted authors to Mostly Books on March 3rd - Angela Young and Eliza Graham - two days before the winner is announced. Both are in the running for the £5,000 prize announced on World Book Day 3 days later.

This is your chance to meet the authors, hear about how their books made the shortlist, and the impact this high profile event has had on their writing careers.

You can still vote for the winner here - with £100 of National Book Tokens up for grabs each week until the announcement.
